Seas the Day: Making a splash in style.
To keep your swimwear as bright and durable as the first splash, follow this simple guide. Even for standard swim fabrics, a little TLC goes a long way in preventing fading and "saggy" suits.
The Splash-Ready Care Guide
1. Rinse Immediately: After every swim, rinse your suit in cool, fresh water. This is the #1 rule to remove chlorine, salt, and sand before they can damage the fibers.
2. Hand Wash Only: Skip the washing machine to avoid aggressive agitation that can destroy elasticity. Use a mild, pH-neutral detergentor a gentle soap.
3. No Wringing or Twisting: Never wring out your swimsuit, as this stretches and breaks the delicate fibers. Instead, lay it flat on a clean towel, roll the towel up, and gently press to remove excess moisture.
4. Dry in the Shade: Lay your suit flat to dry in a shaded area. Direct sunlight is the fastest way to fade those vibrant summer colors.
5. Avoid the Dryer: High heat is the enemy of swimwear. Never put your suit in the dryer, as it can melt elastic fibers and permanently ruin the fit.
6. Sunscreen First: Apply sunscreen 15–30 minutes before putting on the suit to prevent oils from staining the fabric or breaking down the elastic.
Pro-Tip: The "Color-Lock" Soak
Before the very first wear, soak your new swimsuit for 30 minutes in a mixture of cool water and one tablespoon of white vinegar. This helps set the dyes and keeps those colors popping all season long!
